GOVERNOR BUSH ENDORSED BY 100 NEWSPAPERS ACROSS THE COUNTRY

Victory2000
GOVERNOR BUSH ENDORSED BY 100 NEWSPAPERS ACROSS THE COUNTRY
Compared to only 46 that have endorsed Al Gore; Papers endorsing Governor Bush include 18 that endorsed Clinton/Gore in 1996

AUSTIN-Texas Governor George W. Bush has been endorsed by 100 newspapers
across the country, including receiving endorsements today from
Michigan's Flint Journal, West Virginia's Charleston Daily Mail, and
Ohio's Cincinnati Post, as excerpted below.

"Bush's Leadership Skills Make Him Better Choice," Flint Journal,
10/30/00
"Bush has an ability to connect with people, which is an indispensable
quality for any leader. He has the strength of character and self
assurance to surround himself with good help, such as running mate Dick
Cheney and likely Cabinet member Colin Powell. As his campaign has
progressed from the early primary days and through the debates, his
performance has gotten stronger. For these and other reasons, The
Journal believes George W. Bush is the better choice to be the nation's
43rd president."

"Bush is the Choice for Growth in Household, Not Federal Income,"
Charleston Daily Mail, 10/30/00
"It's Al Gore to the left, George W. Bush to the right. It's the
difference between government that knows it all and mistrusts the
American people, and government that respects Americans and gives them
credit for being able to manage their own affairs. It's the difference
between a guy who comes up with the Kyoto Protocol and a guy who bothers
to find out that most of the nation depends on coal production to keep
the lights on. It's the difference between judges who want to write law
and judges who respect legislative bodies. It's the difference between
growth in government and growth in household income. These are big
differences. George W. Bush, and the team he would put into place,
represent the best hope for facing longstanding problems and building a
better future."

"George W. Bush: Best Choice for President,"Cincinnati Post, 10/30/00
"George W. Bush has a practical, principled view that the federal
government's role in American life should be restrained. He wants
Washington to help raise up the poorest among us and to solve such
problems as guaranteeing the future of Social Security. But through the
device of tax cuts, he also wants to liberate further the American
people and to make government less like a shadow that follows everyone
everywhere. Those are among the primary reasons the Texas governor
should be elected president of the United States...But Bush's lack of
time in Washington may actually be an asset. Unlike his opponent, much
of his adult life was spent in business, but that is not a demerit; it
is a politically important education in everyday realities."

The following list represents the 18 papers that have endorsed Governor
Bush, but endorsed Clinton/Gore in 1996. Also included is a list of all
