During his business career, Jim Oberweis founded three mutual funds, two stock brokerage firms and one money management firm that currently manages over $1 billion. In 1986, when Jim’s older brother suffered a stroke and was unable to continue in business, Jim Oberweis bought Oberweis Dairy to preserve his grandfather’s legacy. Oberweis Dairy processes the world’s finest milk and ice cream products. In the last twelve years, the management team has grown Oberweis Dairy from 50 employees to over 1000, from $5 million in annual sales to $55 million, and from one ice cream store to 35 and growing.

Jim Oberweis has a degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. He has five adult children and eleven grandchildren.

The Oberweis for Illinois campaign will visit Rockford, Chicago, Aurora and Bolingbrook on Thursday, April 14. On Friday, April 15, Jim Oberweis will be in the Quad Cities, Peoria and Springfield.
