Plus -- The Conservative Quote of the Day
Whether he's flipping or flopping, Kerry's just wrongTHOMAS ROESER |
| John Kerry is not only uncertain about where he stands; he's politically bipolar. Hiring Bill Clinton's old staff to shore up his campaign won't work. Anyone who follows the news can tell you what's wrong with his campaign. It isn't the campaign staff -- it's the uncertainty of the candidate. Thus, we have the Kerry who says Iraq is the wrong war at the wrong place at the wrong time while having voted for it and still defends both propositions. Kerry claims heroism in Vietnam, after which he repented for a war filled with atrocities, some of which he himself committed. This isn't only wallowing in uncertainty -- Kerry shows evidence of a serious political bipolar problem. One cannot be both Sergeant York and Daniel Ellsberg at the same time. His only supporters are the old media (eastern newspapers and the three TV networks), determined to elect him despite his bipolarity. But the zig-zags can't be hidden. His war stories triggered the counterattack by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth -- and the Massachusetts senator's campaign collapsed. Consider: How can one use home movies to film himself as the gallant warrior and later say that Ho Chi Minh is the George Washington of Vietnam [according to Unfit for Command by John O'Neill, page 137]? How do you advocate troop redeployment on Aug. 1, 2004, and attack Bush for it on Aug. 18? How can he talk so warmly about a ''band of brothers'' in Vietnam and forget his 1971 testimony before the U.S. Senate about unspeakable atrocities being committed by Americans ''on a day-to-day basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command''? Paul Galanti was a POW in the Hanoi Hilton in 1971 when he was confronted by his harsh North Vietnam captors about the testimony and speeches Kerry was making in the United States in April of that year. Speaking of atrocities by U.S. soldiers, Kerry said: They had ''personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wire from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam.'' Says Galanti: ''They made a big deal about this guy who was a naval officer, talking about all those atrocities and crimes. They'd been for years saying, 'You're not prisoners of war, you're war criminals. You're never going home, we're going to try you after the war and you'll all be found guilty of war crimes.'' How would bipolar Kerry have handled the Cold War? President Ronald Reagan deployed U.S. missiles to counter Soviet demands for a bilateral nuclear freeze; Kerry supported a nuclear freeze. Reagan pushed the Strategic Defense Initiative, more popularly known as ''Star Wars,'' with Mikhail Gorbachev in Geneva in 1985; Kerry opposed SDI. In September 1985, before Reagan met Gorbachev, Kerry was the star attraction in Geneva for those who urged peace at any price. In August 1986, two months before Reagan met Gorbachev at Reykjavik, Kerry fought to torpedo SDI, calling it ''a cancer.'' All during the buildup of defense that led Reagan to win the Cold War, Kerry was on the other side: voting against the B-1 bomber, the AH-64 Apache helicopter, the Patriot missile, the F-15, F-14A and F-14D jets, the AV-8B Harrier jet, the Aegis air-defense cruiser and the Trident missile system. Nor is Kerry's bipolarity limited to foreign and defense policies. At many stops he receives rifles and shotguns, which he holds aloft to demonstrate his support of the Second Amendment: ''I'm not for [gun] registration. I've never been for gun registration,'' he said in Milwaukee on July 4, 2004, but earlier, on July 19, 1993, Kerry said ''I concur with Chief Justice Burger [that registering gun purchases doesn't violate the Constitution].'' It's fitting that in the summer Kerry windsurfs, arcing his body this way and that, and in winter he snowboards, twisting this way and that. His inner confusion is finally coming to view thanks to talk radio, cable news and the Internet. George W. Bush spent $200 million on TV ads that didn't move his numbers. The Swift Boaters changed all with a modest initial $500,000 buy -- focusing on Kerry's bipolarity. For which they deserve our grateful praise. |
Conservatives working for Phil CraneJim Leahy |
| The Illinois Forum, a conservative group run by Bob Redfern is bringing its members to Phil Crane's district to help the Congressman's reelection efforts. Members of the RALC will be there as well. They will be carrying literature and walking precincts on Sept 26th and will meet at Barrington Twp Hall @12:00pm. I hope anyone with time will go to meet and work with them and help out. This is a race the Democrats have targeted. Phil Crane made a promise when he ran the first time in 1969 that he would never vote for a tax increase. In the 35 years he has been in congress he has never broken that promise. Congressman Crane was one of the first people on the national stage to push for a flat tax, when he ran for President in 1980. He knew back then that our tax system was out of date and needs to be updated. He is pro life and pro family and has a LIFETIME rating from the American Conservative Union of 99 out of a possible 100. Click on the link below this story to see his voting record. Here is some more info. |
“UNFIT FOR COMMAND”Bill Christensen |
| I just finished reading a hard to find and get book that is the # 1 best seller on the New York Times Best Seller list and the name of the book is “Unfit for Command” by John E. O’Neil. Mr. O’Neil and 250 + decorated war veterans describe their interaction with President “want to be “ Mr. John Kerry during his four month Tour of Duty in Vietnam. The book describes how Mr. Kerry tried to get a Student Deferment to study overseas but was turned down by his draft board and he then went and joined the Navy Reserve, Inactive. After attending Officer Candidate School, he was activated and spent one year on the U.S.S. Gridley. During the tour aboard the Gridley, he was touring the Pacific Ocean, from the California coast, China Sea, Australia and then returning to Long Beach, California. He spent a total of five weeks in waters around Vietnam and was spouting anti-war talk the complete tour of the Pacific. After returning to California, he volunteered for Swift Boat Duty, because of the infrequent combat that they saw. According to Rear Admiral Roy Hoffman, USN Retired, “Kerry arrived in-country with a strong anti-Vietnam War bias and a self-serving determination to build a foundation for his political future.” During his one-month training period for Swift Boats, the prime mission of the Swift Boats changed during his training from coastal defense to inland water defense, which meant that Mr. Kerry would have to face real combat. Mr. Kerry was not happy! According to Kerry’s first Commander in Costal Division 14, Commander Grant Hibbard, USN (Retired), “Kerry told everybody that he was going to be president one day – you know, the next JFK from Massachusetts. Maybe he just thought Swift Boats would be a safe PT-109.” The book goes into, how the veterans feel that Kerry was not up to par for the normal veteran that served in Vietnam and how he used the system to his benefit for the future. Would you believe that Mr. Kerry’s attempt at a Purple Heart was turned down by a commander that did not believe Mr. Kerry’s claim that he received a band aid wound in Combat? A few months later, and a rewording of the paper work, and a commander change, He received the Purple Heart. His other Medals were discussed and told how they saw him use the system to gain a release from duty in Vietnam in just four months, and the only person in the Division to use a little known loop-hole in the Naval Regulations. They then go into his history of continued anti-war activities and his wild charges before the hearing before Senator Fulbright’s Committee. The political agenda of this Committee was to stop this war and end the fight for freedom of the South Vietnamese People. This committee refused to allow Mr. John O’Neil to address this committee and refute the untrue charges that anti-war Mr. Kerry was stating that went on. Mr. Kerry’s statement that he had committed War Crimes before the committee was carefully orchestrated piece of political theater at the expense of the All Veterans, including the POW’s that heard his statements during the torture and attempt to get them (POW’s) to confess to war crime, while a Prisoner in the Hanoi Hilton. The book then goes into his leadership in the Vietnam Veterans Against the War (VVAW) and the association with financing by the Communist Party of America and by Hanoi Jane Fonda. It also goes into how Mr. Kerry met with the Viet-Cong and the North Vietnamese Government during the Peace Talks in Paris, without the Authorization of the United States Government, in an attempt to get POW’s released to them. This attempt prolonged the reservations of the POW’s in the Hanoi Hilton according to the Veterans of this Book. The book also explains the meeting in 1971 of the VVAW and the agenda to assassinate three Senators that were for the War, this meeting was attended by John Kerry according to a report by the FBI that was investigating the group. Mr. Kerry resigned from this group shortly after this discussion, but never reported this agenda to the FBI. They end the book with an overview of all of the points that they feel would hold Mr. John Kerry Unfit for Command. This book was a well documented, knowledgeable book about the man that wants to be our next Commander-in-Chief of the United States Military and his ability to lead our country in this time of Terrorist attacks and his inability to defend our country, if he is elected. I recommend that all people read this book and the book that John Kerry had published in the 1970’s called “The New Soldier” and he will not let this book be republished again because of his fear of what people will learn about his attitude towards War. If anyone wants to read this book please contact me at sparkie@qconline.com and I will let you know where to get a copy. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND OUR TROOPS THAT ARE IN HARMS WAY! |
Conservative Quote of the Day |
| "Thirty-five years ago, many of us fell silent when we came back to the stain of sewage that Mr. Kerry had thrown on us, and all of our colleagues who served over there. I don't intend to be silent today or ever again. Our young men and women who are serving deserve no less."
