Army Sgt. Michael D. Acklin II, 25, of Louisville, Ky.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 320th Field Artillery, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.; killed Nov. 15 when two UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters crashed in Mosul, Iraq.

Army Spc. Genaro Acosta, 26, of Fair Oaks, Calif.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 44th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 4th Infantry Division (Mech), Fort Hood, Texas; killed while on patrol Nov. 11 when his Bradley Fighting Vehicle hit and detonated two improvised explosive devices in Taji, Iraq.

Army Pfc. Steven Acosta, 19, of Calexico, Calif.; assigned to C Company, 3rd Battalion, 67th Armored Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; died Oct. 26 from a non-hostile gunshot wound in Baqubah, Iraq.

Army Capt. James F. Adamouski, 29, of Springfield, Va.; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Aviation Regiment, Hunter Army Airfield, Ga.; killed in a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter crash in central Iraq.

Army Pvt. Algernon Adams, 36, of Aiken, S.C.; assigned to the 122nd Engineer Battalion, Army National Guard, Edgefield, S.C.; died Oct. 28 of non-combat-related injuries at Forward Operating Base St. Mere, Iraq.

Army Pfc. Michael S. Adams, 20, of Spartanburg, S.C.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 35th Armor Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Baumholder, Germany; died on Aug. 21 in Baghdad, Iraq. Adams was participating in a small-arms-fire exercise on the range when a bullet ricocheted and ignited a fire in the building. He died as a result of injuries sustained during the fire.

Army 1st Lt. Michael R. Adams, 24, of Seattle; assigned to 1st Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colo.; killed March 16 when he was struck by the barrel of a .50 caliber weapon mounted on his tank in Asad, Iraq.

Navy Lt. Thomas Mullen Adams, 27, of La Mesa, Calif.; assigned as an exchange officer with the British Royal Navy’s 849 Squadron; killed in a Royal Navy Sea King helicopter crash over the Persian Gulf.

Army Spc. Jamaal R. Addison, 22, of Roswell, Ga.; assigned to the 507th Maintenance Company, Fort Bliss, Texas; killed in an ambush near Nasiriyah, Iraq.

Army Capt. Tristan N. Aitken, 31, of State College, Pa.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 41st Field Artillery, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga. killed in action in Iraq.

Army Spc. Ronald D. Allen Jr., 22, of Mitchell, Ind.; assigned to the 502nd Personnel Service Battalion, 43rd Area Support Group, Fort Carson, Colo.; died in a vehicle accident while conducting convoy operations near Balad, Iraq, on Aug. 5.

Army Sgt. Glenn R. Allison, 24, of Pittsfield, Mass.; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, based in Fort Drum, N.Y.; died Dec. 18 during physical training in Baghdad.

Army Spc. Jose Amancio Perez III, 22, of San Diego, Texas; assigned to 6th Battalion, 27th Field Artillery Regiment, Fort Sill, Okla.; killed May 28 when the convoy he was traveling in was ambushed in Taji, Iraq.

Marine Corps Cpl. Daniel R. Amaya, 22, of Odessa, Texas; assigned to 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, Calif.; killed April 11 by hostile gunfire in Anbar province, Iraq.

Army Pfc. John D. Amos II, 22, of Valparaiso, Ind.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division (Light), Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; killed April 4 when an improvised explosive device hit his military vehicle in Kirkuk, Iraq.

Marine Lance Cpl. Brian E. Anderson, 26, of Durham, N.C.; assigned to the 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; killed in a non-hostile vehicle accident west of Nasiriyah, Iraq.

Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Michael C. Anderson, 36, of Daytona, Fla.; assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 14, Jacksonville, Fla.; killed May 2 by hostile fire in Anbar province, Iraq.

Army Spc. Michael Andrade, 28, of Bristol, Rhode Island; attached to the 115th Military Police Company, U.S. Army National Guard; died Sept. 24 of injuries he sustained when a 5-ton truck struck his Humvee in Balad, Iraq.

Marine Lance Cpl. Levi T Angell, 20, of Saint Louis, Minn.; assigned to Combat Service Support Group 11, 1st Force Service Support Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.; killed April 8 by hostile fire in Anbar province, Iraq.

Army Sgt. Edward J. Anguiano, 24, of Brownsville, Texas; assigned to 3rd Combat Support Battalion, Fort Stewart, Ga.; killed in a convoy ambush in Iraq. His remains were recovered April 24. His status was changed from missing on April 28.

Marine Cpl. Jesus Martin Antonio Medellin, 21, of Fort Worth, Texas; assigned to 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, Calif.; killed in action in central Iraq.

Marine Chief Warrant Officer Andrew Todd Arnold , 30, of Spring, Texas; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade based in Camp Lejeune, N.C.; killed in a non-hostile accident when a rocket-propelled grenade launcher being fired for familiarization malfunctioned near Kut, Iraq. The incident is under investigation.

Army Spc. Richard Arriaga, 20, of Ganado, Texas; assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 4th Battalion, 42nd Field Artillery Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas; killed Sept. 18 during an ambush by small-arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades in Tikrit, Iraq. Two other soldiers from his unit also were killed.

Marine Staff Sgt. Jimmy J. Arroyave, 30, of Woodland, Calif.; assigned to Combat Service Support Battalion 1, Combat Service Support Group 11, 1st Force Service Support Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.; died April 15 in a non-combat-related vehicle accident northeast of Ramadi, Iraq.

Army Spc. Robert R. Arsiaga, 25, of San Antonio, Texas; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; killed April 4 when his unit was attacked with rocket-propelled grenades and small-arms fire in Baghdad.

Army Cpl. Evan Asa Ashcraft, 24, West Hills, Calif.; assigned to the Company A, 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Ky.; killed when his convoy came under enemy fire north of Hawd, Iraq, on July 24.

Marine Maj. Jay Thomas Aubin, 36, of Waterville, Maine; assigned to the Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron 1, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Ariz.; killed in a CH-46E helicopter crash in Kuwait.

Army Capt. Matthew J. August, 28, of Rhode Island; assigned to Company B, 1st Engineer Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division (Mech), Fort Riley, Kan.; killed Jan. 27 in an improvised explosive device attack in Khalidiyah, Iraq.

Marine Lance Cpl. Aaron C. Austin, 21, of Sunray, Texas; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, at Camp Pendleton, Calif.; killed April 26 by hostile fire in Anbar province, Iraq.

Army Spc. Tyanna S. Avery-Felder, 22, of Bridgeport, Conn.; assigned to the 296th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Wash.; died April 7 in Mosul, Iraq, of injuries sustained April 4 when her convoy vehicle was hit with an improvised explosive device in Balad, Iraq.

Marine Lance Cpl. Andrew Julian Aviles, 18, of Palm Beach, Fla.; assigned to 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion, 4th Marine Division, Tampa, Fla.; killed in action in central Iraq.

Marine Corps Pfc. Eric A. Ayon, 26, of Arleta, Calif.; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.; killed April 9 by hostile fire in Anbar province, Iraq.

Army Sgt. 1st Class Henry A. Bacon, 45, of Wagram, N.C.; assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 1st Squadron, 10th Armored Cavalry Regiment, 4th Aviation Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; killed Feb. 20 when he was struck by a recovery vehicle while he was assisting a disabled vehicle in Dujayl, Iraq.

Army Sgt. Andrew Joseph Baddick, 26, of Jim Thorpe, Pa.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Fort Bragg, N.C.; drowned Sept. 29 as he tried to rescue another soldier whose vehicle had entered a canal near Abu Ghraib Prison, Iraq.

Army Staff Sgt. Daniel Bader, 28, of York, Neb.; assigned to the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Tiger Squadron, Fort Carson, Colo.; killed Nov. 2 in an attack on a CH-47 Chinook helicopter near Fallujah, Iraq.

Army Spc. Ryan T. Baker, 24, of Brown Mills, N.J.; assigned to the 4th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.; killed Nov. 15 when two UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters crashed in Mosul, Iraq.

Army Sgt. Sherwood R. Baker, 30, of Plymouth, Pa., assigned to Company B, 2nd Battalion, 103rd Armor Regiment, Army National Guard, Tamaqua, Pa.; killed April 26 by a large explosion while performing site security in Baghdad.

Marine Pfc. Chad E. Bales, 20, of Coahoma, Texas; assigned to the 1st Transportation Support Battalion, 1st Force Service Support Group, Camp Pendleton, Calif.; killed in a non-hostile vehicle accident east of Ash Shahin, Iraq.

Army Spc. Solomon C. Bangayan, 24, of Jay, Vt.; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.; killed in action when his convoy was ambushed by the enemy who used an improvised explosive device (IED), small arms fire, and a rocket-propelled grenade, on Jan. 2 in Baghdad.

Army Lt. Col. Dominic R. Baragona, 42, of Niles, Ohio; assigned to 19th Maintenance Battalion, Fort Sill, Okla.; killed in a vehicle accident in Iraq.

Army Spc. Jonathan P. Barnes, 21, Anderson, Mo.; assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; killed July 26 as a result of a grenade being thrown from a window of an Iraqi civilian hospital he was helping guard in Baqubah, Iraq.

Army Command Sgt. Maj. Edward C. Barnhill, 50, of Shreveport, La.; assigned to the 431st Civil Affairs Battalion, Army Reserve, North Little Rock, Ark.; died of a heart attack May 14 in Baghdad.

Marine Lance Cpl. Aric J. Barr, 22, of Allegheny, Pa.; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, Calif.; killed April 4 by hostile fire in Anbar province, Iraq.

Army Sgt. Michael Paul Barrera, 26, of Von Ormy, Texas; assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas; killed Oct. 28 when his tank was hit with an improvised explosive device in Baqubah, Iraq.

Army Spc. Todd M. Bates, 20, of Bellaire, Ohio; assigned to the 135th Military Police Company, Army National Guard based in Brookpark, Ohio; placed on duty status whereabouts unknown. Bates was on a river patrol on the Tigris River south of Baghdad Dec. 10 when his squad leader fell overboard. He dove into the water after his squad leader, Staff Sgt. Aaron T. Reese, but did not surface. Reese did not survive.

Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Ronald E. Baum, 38, of Hollidaysburg, Pa.; assigned to 2nd Intelligence Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, at Camp Lejeune, N.C.; killed May 3 by hostile fire in Anbar province, Iraq.

Army Spc. Alan N. Bean Jr., 22, of Bridport, Vt.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 86th Field Artillery, Army National Guard, Williston, Vt.; killed May 25 when his unit came under mortar attack at Forward Operating Base Kalsu near Iskandariyah, Iraq.

Army Spc. Beau R. Beaulieu, 20, of Lisbon, Maine; assigned to the 27th Main Support Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; killed May 24 during a mortar attack on Camp Cooke in Taji, Iraq.

Marine Capt. Ryan Anthony Beaupre, 30, of Bloomington, Ill.; assigned to the Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 268, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton, Calif.; killed in a CH-46E helicopter crash in Kuwait.

Army Spc. James L. Beckstrand, 27, of Escondido, Calif.; assigned to 4th Battalion, 27th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Baumholder, Germany; one of eight soldiers killed April 29 by a car bomb as his unit was doing a dismounted improvised-explosive device-sweep in Baghdad.

Army Sgt. Gregory A. Belanger, 24, of Narragansett, R.I.; assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Service Company, 325th Military Intelligence Battalion, Army Reserve, based at Ayer, Mass.; killed Aug. 27 when an improvised explosive device struck his vehicle in Hallia, Iraq.

Army Sgt. Aubrey D. Bell, 33, of Tuskegee, Ala.; assigned to the 214th Military Police Company, Alabama National Guard; Oct. 27 at Al Bayra Police Station in Baghdad when his unit came under small-arms fire and an improvised explosive device detonated.

Army Pfc. Wilfred D. Bellard, 20, of Lake Charles, La.; assigned to 41st Field Artillery Regiment, Fort Stewart, Ga.; killed in a vehicle accident in Iraq.

Army Staff Sgt. Joseph P. Bellavia, 28, of Wakefield, Mass.; assigned to the 716th Military Police Battalion, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), based in Fort Campbell, Ky.; killed while attempting to negotiate with armed men who were congregating on a road near a mosque after curfew on Oct. 16 in Karbala, Iraq. Also killed in the attack were Lt. Col. Kim S. Orlando, the commanding officer of the 716th, and Cpl. Sean R. Grilley. Seven other U.S. soldiers were wounded.

Army Sgt. 1st Class William M. Bennett, 35, of Seymour, Tenn.; assigned to 3rd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group, Fort Campbell, Ky.; killed Sept. 12 in Ramadi, Iraq, when his unit executed a raid on enemy forces.

Army Spc. Robert T. Benson, 20, of Spokane, Wash.; assigned to Company A, 1st Battalion, 35th Armored Regiment, 1st Armored Division, based in Smith Barracks, Germany; died Nov. 4 from a non-hostile gunshot wound in Baghdad.

Army 1st Lt. David R. Bernstein, 24, of Phoenixville, Pa.; assigned to 1st Battalion (Airborne), 508th Infantry Battalion, 173rd Infantry Brigade, Camp Ederle, Italy; killed Oct. 18 when enemy forces, using rocket-propelled grenades and small-arms fire, ambushed his patrol in Taza, Iraq.

Army Spc. Joel L. Bertoldie, 20, of Independence, Mo.; assigned to Headquarters, Headquarters Company, 4-64 Armor Battalion, Fort Stewart, Ga.; died when an explosive device detonated beneath the vehicle he was driving, throwing him from it, July 18 in Fallujah, Iraq.

Army Staff Sgt. Stephen A. Bertolino, 40, of Orange, Calif.; assigned to Aviation Intermediate Maintenance Troop, Regimental Support Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, based in Fort Carson, Colo.; killed while traveling in a convoy Nov. 29 when his vehicle was hit by enemy fire in Haditha, Iraq.

Army Cpl. Mark A. Bibby , 25, of Watha, N.C.; assigned to Headquarters, Headquarters Detachment, 422 Civil Affairs Battalion, Greensboro, N.C.; died when a vehicle in the convoy he was riding with hit an improvised explosive device while traveling to a water treatment facility on July 21 in Baghdad.

Army Sgt. Benjamin W. Biskie, 27, of Vermilion, Ohio; assigned to the 5th Engineer Battalion, 1st Engineer Brigade, based in Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., killed in action while in a vehicle that was struck by an improvised explosive device, on Dec. 24 near Samarra, Iraq.

Marine Sgt. Michael E. Bitz, 31, of Ventura, Calif.; assigned to 2nd Assault Amphibious Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; killed in action near Nasiriyah, Iraq.

Army Sgt. Jarrod W. Black, 26, of Peru, Ind.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 34th Armor Regiment based in Fort Riley, Kan.; killed Dec. 12 when his convoy was hit by an improvised explosive device in Ramadi, Iraq.

Marine Lance Cpl. Thomas A. Blair, 24, of Wagoner, Okla.; assigned to 2nd Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion, Marine Air Control Group-28, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, Cherry Point, N.C.; killed in action near Nasiriyah, Iraq.

Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 Michael T. Blaise, 29, of Tennessee; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 17th Cavalry Regiment, 101st Aviation Brigade, based at Fort Campbell, Ky.; killed Jan. 23 when his OH-58 Kiowa Warrior helicopter crashed on its way back from a combat mission near Mosul in northern Iraq.

Army Capt. Ernesto M. Blanco, 28, of San Antonio; assigned to 1st Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, based in Fort Bragg, N.C.; killed while conducting a support mission Dec. 28 when an improvised explosive device hit his vehicle in Qaryat Ash Shababi, Iraq.

Army Command Sgt. Maj. James D. Blankenbecler, 40, of Alexandria, Va.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 44th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas; killed while riding in a convoy that was hit by an improvised explosive device and rocket-propelled grenades on Oct. 1 in Samarra, Iraq.

Army Spc. Joseph M. Blickenstaff , 23, of Corvallis, Ore.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Wash.; killed Dec. 8 when his vehicle flipped into a canal in Duluiyah, Iraq.

Army Sgt. Trevor A. Blumberg, 22, of Canton, Mich.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.; killed Sept. 14 in Fallujah when two improvised explosive devices struck his vehicle while he was on patrol.

Marine Gunnery Sgt. Jeffrey E. Bohr Jr., 39, of Ossian, Iowa; assigned to 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, Camp Pendleton, Calif.; killed April 10 in northern Baghdad while engaging enemy forces.

Army Sgt. 1st Class Craig A. Boling, 38, of Elkhart, Ind.; assigned to Company C, 1st Battalion, 152nd Infantry Regiment, Tell City, Ind.; died July 8 of non-combat-related causes at Camp Wolf, Kuwait.

Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Doyle W. Bollinger Jr., 21, of Poteau, Okla.; assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 133, Gulfport, Miss.; killed in Iraq when a piece of unexploded ordnance accidentally detonated in the area he was working.

Army Sgt. 1st Class Kelly Bolor, 37, of Whittier, Calif.; assigned to the 137th Quartermaster Company, U.S. Army Reserve, based in South El Monte, Calif.; killed Nov. 15 when two 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters went down in Mosul, Iraq.

Army Staff Sgt. Stevon A. Booker, 34, of Apollo, Pa.; assigned to A Company, 1st Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, Fort Stewart, Ga.; killed in action during a raid into Baghdad, Iraq.

Army Chief Warrant Officer 4 Clarence E. Boone, 50, of Fort Worth, Texas; assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 4th Infantry Division, based in Fort Hood, Texas; died Dec. 2 from a non-combat related injury in Kuwait City, Kuwait.

Army Pfc. Rachel K. Bosveld, 19, of Waupun, Wis.; assigned to the 527th Military Police Company, V Corps, Giesen, Germany; killed Oct. 26 during a mortar attack on the Abu Ghraib Police Station in Abu Ghraib, Iraq.

Army Spc. Mathew G. Boule, 22, of Dracut, Mass.; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Aviation Regiment, Hunter Army Airfield, Ga.; killed in a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter crash in central Iraq.

Army Staff Sgt. Hesley Box Jr., 24, of Nashville, Ark.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 153rd Infantry, 39th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Arkansas National Guard, Texarkana, Ark.; killed May 6 when a car bomb detonated near his guard post in Baghdad.

Marine Pvt. Noah L. Boye, 21, of Grand Island, Neb.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.; killed April 13 by hostile fire in Anbar province, Iraq.

Army Spc. Edward W. Brabazon, 20, of Philadelphia; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.; died March 9 of a non-hostile gunshot wound in Baghdad.

Marine Cpl. Travis J. Bradach-Nall, 21, of Multnomah County, Ore.; assigned to Combat Service Support Group 11, Camp Pendleton, Calif.; died July 2 near Karbala, Iraq. Bradachnall was killed in an explosion during a mine clearing operation.

Army Staff Sgt. Kenneth R. Bradley, 39, of Utica, Miss.; assigned to the 588th Engineer Battalion, Fort Hood, Texas; died in Baqubah, Iraq, May 28. His death was non-combat related.

Army Staff Sgt. Stacey C. Brandon, 35, of Hazen, Ark.; assigned to 39th Support Battalion, 39th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Army National Guard, Hazen, Ark.; killed April 24 when mortar rounds hit his camp in Taji, Iraq.

Army Spc. Artimus D. Brassfield, 22, of Flint, Mich.; assigned to B Company, 1st Battalion, 66th Armored Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; killed Oct. 24 in an enemy mortar attack in Samaria, Iraq.

Army Pfc. Joel K. Brattain, 21, of Santa Anna, Calif.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 504th Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.; died March 13 when an improvised explosive device struck his military vehicle in Baghdad. Also killed were Staff Sgt. Clint D. Ferrin and Sgt. Daniel J. Londono.

Army Sgt. Charles T. Caldwell, 38, of North Providence, R.I.; assigned to the 115th Military Police Company, Army National Guard, Cranston, R.I.; killed Sept. 1 when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device on Main Supply Route Tampa, south of Baghdad, Iraq. Caldwell was one of two soldiers killed in the incident.

Army Spc. Nathaniel A. Caldwell, 27, of Omaha, Neb.; assigned to 404th Air Support Battalion, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; killed in a vehicle accident in Baghdad. Caldwell was responding to a civilian call when his vehicle rolled over.

Army Staff Sgt. Joseph Camara, 40, of New Bedford, Mass.; assigned to the 115th Military Police Company, U.S. Army National Guard, Cranston, R.I.; killed Sept. 1 on Main Supply Route Tampa, south of Baghdad, Iraq, when his vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device.Another soldier also died in the incident.

Marine Pfc. Michael M. Carey, 20, of Prince George, Va.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, at Camp Pendleton, Calif.; died May 18 after he apparently fell into a canal in Iraq and did not resurface. His body was recovered the same day.

Army Cpl. Richard P. Carl, 26, of King Hill, Idaho; assigned to 571st Air Medical Company, Fort Carson, Colo.; killed when his UH-60 air medical helicopter crashed in the Tigris River in Iraq.

Army Spc. Ryan G. Carlock, 25, of Macomb, Ill.; assigned to the 416th Transportation Company, 260th Quartermaster Battalion (Petroleum Support), Hunter Army Airfield, Ga.; killed Sept. 9 northwest of Baghdad when his fuel truck was attacked by the enemy.

Army Spec. Doron Chan, 20, of Highland, N.Y.; assigned to the 411th Engineer Brigade, Army Reserve, New Windsor, N.Y.; killed March 18 when his convoy vehicle was cut off by a civilian vehicle near Balad, Iraq. Chan’s vehicle swerved, crossed into oncoming traffic and flipped over.

Army Staff Sgt. William D. Chaney, 59, of Schaumburg, Ill.; assigned to Company B, 1st Battalion, 106th Aviation Regiment, Army National Guard, Chicago; died May 18 in Landstuhl, Germany, from complications following surgery for a sudden medical condition that led to Chaney’s medical evacuation from Iraq.

Marine Chief Warrant Officer Robert William Channell Jr., 36, of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade based in Camp Lejeune, N.C.; killed in a non-hostile accident when a rocket-propelled grenade launcher being fired for familiarization malfunctioned near Kut, Iraq. The incident is under investigation.

Army Spc. Jason K. Chappell, 22, of Hemet, Calif.; assigned to Company B, 1st Squadron, 9th Cavalry, Fort Hood Texas; attached to Task Force All American; killed Jan. 24 when a vehicle-based improvised explosive device detonated in Khalidiyah, Iraq.

Army Pfc. Jonathan M. Cheatham, 19, of Camden, Ark.; assigned to the 489th Engineer Battalion, Army Reserve, North Little Rock, Ark.; killed while riding in a convoy that came under a rocket-propelled grenade attack, on July 26 in Baghdad.

Army Sgt. Timothy M. Conneway, 22, of Enterprise, Ala.; assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Fort Benning, Ga.; died June 28 as a result of enemy fire in Baghdad. Conneway was traveling in a government vehicle in Baghdad June 26 when an explosive device detonated and struck the vehicle. He died two days later.

Army Pfc. Ervin Dervishi, 21, Fort Worth, Texas; assigned to Company B, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, based at Fort Hood, Texas; died Jan. 24 when a rocket-propelled grenade hit the Bradley Fighting Vehicle in which he was traveling on combat patrol in Baji, Iraq. He was evacuated to the 28th Combat Support Hospital where he later died.

Army Pfc. Michael R. Deuel, 21, of Nemo, S.D.; assigned to Company B, 2nd Battalion, 325th Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.; killed June 18, in Baghdad, Iraq. Deuel received fatal gun shot wounds while on guard duty at a propane distribution center.

Army Sgt. Michael E. Dooley, 23, of Pulaski, Va.; assigned to 1st Squadron, 3rd Armor Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colo.; killed on June 8 in Asad, Iraq. Dooley was manning a traffic control point when a vehicle came up to the checkpoint and two individuals got out requesting a medic for their sick friend. Immediately following the request for help, they opened fire on Dooley which resulted in his death.

Army Chief Warrant Officer Patrick Dorff, 32, of Minnesota; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 10th Aviation (Fort Drum); attached to the 3rd Squadron, 17th Cavalry, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y; killed Jan. 25 when his Kiowa Warrior helicopter went down in the Tigris River during a search for four soldiers whose watercraft had capsized. Dorff was listed as duty status whereabouts unknown after the crash. His remains were recovered Jan. 29.

Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Trace W. Dossett, 37, of Orlando, Fla.; assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 14, Jacksonville, Fla.; killed May 2 by hostile fire in Anbar province, Iraq.

Army Capt. Brian R. Faunce, 28, of Philadelphia; assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, Fort Carson, Colo.; died Sept. 18 in Asad, Iraq. Faunce was moving in a Bradley Fighting Vehicle when his vehicle crossed under some low laying power lines. The soldier reached up and grabbed the lines and was fatally injured.

Army Capt. Arthur L. Felder, 36, of Louisville, Ark.; assigned to 39th Support Battalion, 39th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Army National Guard, Hazen, Ark.; killed April 24 when mortar rounds hit his camp in Taji, Iraq.

Army Spc. Rian C. Ferguson, 22, of Taylors, S.C.; assigned to the Regimental Support Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment based in Fort Carson, Colo.; killed Dec. 14 when he fell from the light medium tactical vehicle in which he was riding outside forward operating base Quinn, Iraq.

Fisher was very seriously injured Nov. 2 when the CH-47 Chinook helicopter in which he was riding went down in Fallujah, Iraq.

Army Pvt. Benjamin L. Freeman, 19, of Valdosta, Ga.; assigned to K Troop, 3rd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, based in Fort Carson, Colo.; drowned Oct. 13 near Asad, Iraq. Soldiers from his unit had been searching for Freeman when they discovered him floating on the surface of the water near Haditha dam.

Marine Lance Cpl. Nicholas Brian Kleiboeker, 19, of Irvington, Ill.; assigned to 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; killed near Hillah, Iraq, when the munitions bunker he was working in caught fire and exploded.

Army Spc. John K. Klinesmith Jr., 25, of Stockbridge, Ga.; was assigned to Company C, 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y.; died June 12 in Fallujah, Iraq. Klinesmith was last seen wading in the lake on the palace compound in Fallujah on June 12. A search was launched and Klinesmith’s body was discovered at the lake.

Army Sgt. Floyd G. Knighten Jr., 55, of Olla, La.; assigned to the 1087th Transportation Support Company, Army National Guard, Fort Polk, La.; died Aug. 9 from a non-combat-related cause while in a convoy from Camp Bilad to Camp Pennsylvania in Iraq.

Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 Matthew C. Laskowski, 32, of Phoenix, Ariz.; assigned to the 4th Squadron, Outlaw Troop, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colo.; killed Feb. 25 when the OH-58 helicopter in which he was flying crashed in Habbinayah, Iraq.

Army Staff Sgt. William T. Latham, 29, of Kingman, Ariz.; assigned to Troop E, 2nd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colo.; died June 18, at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Latham was participating in a raid at a suspected arms market in Ar Ramadi, Iraq, on May 19 when he was hit by shrapnel. Latham was evacuated back to the United States where he died of his wounds.

Mack jumped into the Euphrates River to take a swim and did not resurface. A search party found his body downstream on Aug. 24.

Army 1st Lt. Adam G. Mooney was listed as duty status whereabouts unknown after the crash. His remains were recovered Feb. 14.
